Written in an email to my mother on Tuesday:
So, I finished your shirt. (the pink forsythia) I was all excited and sewing it up. And then I looked at it for a moment, and tried it on.
It fit.
It fit over a T-shirt and was loose. And before you ask, no, I don't want it. It's boxy on me and makes me look horrid. But the color's nice.
Oh mother who knows all things... if I wash a cotton shirt (which this needs anyway) the way I'm not supposed to, would it shrink vertically as well as horizontally?
I just don't understand! The gauge was right when I started it, but it's measuring for the large size, exactly, even though I made it medium. Which means, at some point, it wasn't gauge for a very long time.
In case you can't tell, I'm rather irked.
/ end email
Pictures later. (I'm lazy)
Serves me right for not measuring as I knit. I'm just going to rip it out later. And I'm not touching it again until I'm in Cali.
I restarted sitcom. I forgot that I need the circular 8s for the cathats. Sily Christina. DPNs it is. Though I can always make these on 7 circs. Maybe then the size would be better...
