Halloween!

So, Halloween is a day away and you find yourself costumeless. What do you do?
Yes, I know it's two weeks later. Bear with me. I've been lazy busy.

1. Buy a $2 headband from the local drug store.
2. Make 4 triangles and sew to the headband to make yourself a pair of cat ears.

3. Take an old yard of cat fabric and hem it on public transportation for an hour.

4. Dress all in black, slap on some goth makeup...

And be catty for Halloween!

If you want to make yourself a pair of cat ears, it's pretty easy and very similar to the cat ears in the Kittyville hat.
Needed:
Scrap worsted weight black yarn
scrap worsted weight pink yarn
size 10 needles
headband
tapestry needle

Back Triangle: (Make 2)
Cast on 10 stitches. Work four rows stockinette, using a selvedge stitch.
Knit 1, ssk, knit across until the last 4 stitches, k2tog, knit t1.
Purl across.
Repeat until 5 stitches remain. Knit 1, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k1.
Purl across.
k3tog. Cut yarn and pull yarn through.

Front Triangle: (Make 2)
Cast on 10 stitches. Work 2 rows stockinette. Knit 2, knit 6 in pink, knit 2 in black. Purl across in color pattern.
Work decreases the same as the back triangles, dropping the pink when 5 stitches remain on the needle.
Knit 1, slip 1, k2tog, psso, k1.
Purl across.
k3tog. Cut yarn and pull yarn through.

Sew two triangles together. Whipstitch the ears onto the headband, taking care to keep them in approximately the same place. Cut yarns and go party!

Well, maybe for next Halloween, then.
