Did you miss me?
Ah, the joys of webhosting.If you've wondered where I've been, it goes a bit like this...
In December, I bought extra bandwidth because I was getting a lot of traffic. In January, I got mugged four days before my hosting & domain were due to be renewed. I had no credit cards with which to renew my hosting and, in fact, forgot about it completely until I got an email saying that my hosting charge had been declined. I wrote a panicked email to my support people. They granted me a week extension, but not until after my domain name had expired.
My debit card showed up, so I renewed everything, but I cancelled the extra bandwidth. In the confirmation, the person talking to me said that I'd already exceeded my normal allotment for the month, but they were cancelling it anyway.
So, I upgraded my hosting, which should have given me 10 times the bandwidth I had (you guys can go to town! Just don't hotlink.). I placed the order two weeks ago, but it didn't get processed until yesterday. Of course, I'd already exceeded my bandwidth. Ugh.
So, moral of the story? Don't do anything different with webhosting. Ever.
