Sitcom is done. Still no pictures.
NO MORE CAT HATS!
I made four last week. Even I have limits.
I never got paid fully for a couple of those, but I don't care too too much.
Am now starting my version of cheesylove, which I have decided I will call icylove. It's really not the same pattern, since I'm using different yarn weights and different needles, different sleeve length, no ruffles, etc...
But I still feel like I'm stealing. Just like I'll feel I'm stealing when I adapt sitcom, even though what I will make will be in no way related to the sitcom sweater except for stitch numbers.
Oh yeah. I graduated college. If things don't work out, I might be doing this for a living too.

It's finished. Sitcom is FINISHED. One corner is popping up, but it's finished!!
2 months of drama. OVER!
Pics when I'm sober and not wearing a black shirt.

sitcom still not dry.
but I've sewed on the button, crocheted on the button loop, and am now sewing ribbon.
Sort of finished Larissa's cat hat too. Except the ears are uneven. Yargh.
I should really stop doing complex knitting while IMing and reading fanfic.
Time to roll some pennies and go to bed.

So, I finally made my necklace. As you can see, it goes perfectly with my graduation dress.
(This image has been sadly lost)
As you can also see, I got my nails done! I now have acryllic tips on my fingers. We'll see how this affects my knitting.
What'd you say about my mama? I'll claw your eyes out!

I have a new sewing project.
Girl outside of South was wearing hospital scrubs she'd cut to make into capri pants.
This is an awesome idea. I'll find some, make them knee level, and do the ]slit[ thing. Sounds like a quick, fun project. Spiffy.

I just realized...
Almost all of the pictures of me in this blog are pictures of my boobs/torso.
I'm surprised people haven't started complaining.

SITCOM IS FINISHED!!!
No, seriously. It is. Forever. I swear. I just have to sew in the ends, give it a wash, and possibly stitch on some ribbon (hey, commencement ceremony activity!)
See, I'm not lying! This is what it looked like before the yoke:
I measured how much it rolled. 4". I'm serious. It rolled 4" before the yoke.
After the yoke, I think it only rolls about 1" or 2". And the back is still popping up, but it's not as massively huge roll as it was in large. I did two more rows of K1P1 rib.
Pulled out all the way and that's what it looks like. Still some rolling, but when I wash & block it, it should relazx a bit more. Worst comes to worst, I sew ribbon on. Right. So that's mostly finished. Now I need to start Larissa's cat hat and get the rest of the purple for Des' other cat hat.
I picked up a Ralph Lauren Polo Sport messenger bag at the clothes swap in South the other day. Granted, someone had duct taped over the declaration on the front and one of the zipper pulls had come off, but it's still a sound bag. I was rummaging around it and pulled out a handful of ink cartridges, went huh, and put them in the free for all box. Then I realized the inner pocket was still full. I reached in and pulled out a handful of tampons and just started laughing for about five minutes. In the end, I think whoever owned it had put an entire box in there. Very amusing.
I need to do laundry. Off I go!

So, I hit the Obie clothes swap today. And I found 2 excellent sweaters.
The first:

The first has very pretty colors, but a horrid pattern, as you can see.

I mean, what is that? K2 rib with ladder stitch or just really lazy purling? I can find something much prettier. Especially now that I own stitch dictionaries.
And the second:

As you can see, it's a little short on me and the sleeves are a little too small in my upper arm flab. I'm tempted to leave as is, however. It has definitely seen better days, but is very pretty. Maybe if I'm not busy with projects over the summer (HAH!), I'll make into a 3/4 sleeve sweater. I just picked it up because I love the yarn. Lionbrand Homespun-esque.
It was amazing how many hand knit sweaters people threw out. It was also amazing how ugly some of them were. And whoever decided the sleeveless turtleneck was a good idea is just plain stupid. I found a very pretty, hand knit bulky weight one of those. The yarn was gorgeous, but it was so warm you wouldn't want to wear it in the summer, and who could wear a sleeveless shirt in the winter?
Just plain silly, in my opinion.

Now that I'm reknitting it as a medium, I wonder if it will fit correctly.
But, upon my last boob measurement, I have a 41.5" bust. Which is closer to the 40" bust than the 44" bust. And the waist is (sort of) larger than mine.
So, in theory, it should fit.
And hey, I'm doing the pattern right this time.

OH MY GOD I'M A MORON!
THAT'S why sitcom looked so horrid. I can't read patterns.
I should have done 9 decreases BEFORE I did the yoke detailing, then 8 more.
Christ. I'm just stupid, I am.
Well, it's nice to know.

I need to remember to make my matching hematite necklace for my $3.25 earrings. I'm kinda broke, but I imagine it couldn't be more than $15. I have to check my accounts to see if I have that much.
I just can't get the image of me in the necklace and earrings, wearing the cotton cherry twist I'm going to knit over the summer with the ruffly spanish skirt I want to design. I just want to be able to say, "Actually, I made everything I'm wearing today, except for the shoes." My shawl would look really good with that outfit too.
Actually, I think it's 3:30 in the morning and I just do not want to write this paper.

So. It is finals week. It is also 4 am.
I am a graduating senior. I do not want to work.
Perhaps this is why I started and finished a sitcom sleeve tonight, right after finishing up the back. Then I started the second sleeve and did a gauge swatch for Larissa's cat hat (perhaps you are noticing a cat hat theme?). Gauge was .5" too small. The last hat that had this gauge fit me well, and Larissa has a smaller head. So, down to 7s. Not that I own 7 circs... right.
Well, in theory, when I finish the sitcom sweater (but not in time for graduation!), I should have plenty of left overs for her.

In this whole "death to work" thing, I have finished Des' other cat hat and started on the second earflap. I don't know if Des actually wants earflaps, because she sent me a concerned email.
But that was more because the purple hat ran out of yarn by the first earflap. I will have a lot of leftovers with this one.
Fun wool. Smells and feels of lanolin.
Paper. Right.

Also, 100 things about me are now up.
Perhaps people will start reading this...

Hrm. Cat hat pic bigger than banner.
I should change this. Oh yes.
When sober, I should change this.
Now, I should drunkenly write a paper about the use of color in Vertigo.

So, here are the promised forsythia pictures. Me wearing it:
And what it SHOULD look like on me:
In other news, at the drunken henna party, I decided I need to make myself a skirt. This brings the design projects up to... I don't know. A lot. Real Life knitting keeps getting in the way. Cat hat commissions have gone from 3 to 5 (Larissa lost hers, and Leslie's NY friend Yaz wants one).
Des had a really good idea, to put one on the blog advertising for $20. So I will. And I have.

Written in an email to my mother on Tuesday:
So, I finished your shirt. (the pink forsythia) I was all excited and sewing it up. And then I looked at it for a moment, and tried it on.
It fit.
It fit over a T-shirt and was loose. And before you ask, no, I don't want it. It's boxy on me and makes me look horrid. But the color's nice.
Oh mother who knows all things... if I wash a cotton shirt (which this needs anyway) the way I'm not supposed to, would it shrink vertically as well as horizontally?
I just don't understand! The gauge was right when I started it, but it's measuring for the large size, exactly, even though I made it medium. Which means, at some point, it wasn't gauge for a very long time.
In case you can't tell, I'm rather irked.
/ end email
Pictures later. (I'm lazy)
Serves me right for not measuring as I knit. I'm just going to rip it out later. And I'm not touching it again until I'm in Cali.
I restarted sitcom. I forgot that I need the circular 8s for the cathats. Sily Christina. DPNs it is. Though I can always make these on 7 circs. Maybe then the size would be better...

Perhaps you have noticed the earrings on the side invisible blog reader.
Why yes! Yes, I have! Why, oh blog author, is there a picture of earrings on the side of a knitting blog?
Well, it's simple, blog reader. My signature icon/banner will be there eventually. Until I spend more time with my digital camera and make one, my $3 bead paradise earrings will have to do. But now you see how it will look... eventually.
Why thank you blog author! Now I understand it all!

Les hat part of cat hat finished. Is very pretty. Is very stiff, too. Slightly bigger than worsted weight wool in size 8s. And it was a stiff wool to begin with.
OK, take a look at this.
I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the yarn is abso-friggin-lutely GORGEOUS!!! Hand painted, hand spun (more evenly than I can right now too), and autopatterns beautifully.
I'm about 5 minutes away from done with this hat. The one problem... I'm not sure if it's big enough. I won't do earflaps or ears until I'm absolutely sure, because I don't want to hurt this pretty, pretty yarn.
I hope Les lets me keep the extras.
Oh right... Led & Des got back to me about the cat hats. Des wants 2, Les wants one with this super pretty yarn.
