Start catch-up!

And so I begin the catch up on the knitting I've done since Christmas. I've been lax about the blog because I'm currently sort of but not really working and have been trying to focus energies elsewhere.

First, something quickly knit and gifted was wavy.

Knit out of two skeins of Patons Classic Merino. I had just enough to get halfway through a repeat before it gave out, so it's not quite in pattern, but it's close.

This was mostly knit on planes, is warm and snuggly and was gifted to the guy I'm dating. Here's hoping there's not a scarf curse!

For those of you who've forgetten about my puppy, I have an adorable dog named Fred. He has a habit of staring out of our living room window.

He watches the world go past, barks at the mailman and then sleeps on my aunt's bed, which is an utter no no. Usually we're not home, so he can get away with it. Today he's been barking for no reason. I come downstairs and see this out the window.

Cars, snow... but no one to defend our sacred home from. I am confused. Also, ti's snowing a little bit again. Whee!

We're sorry, the blog you have tried to reach is no longer in service...

My apologies for disappearing for a couple of days!

Apparently, my hosting automatically renews itself, but my domain does not. Even though they're the same company. I don't ask.

Anyway, I've been hammering away at quite a few projects, mainly because it's gotten cold out and I don't own any sweaters that actually fit. Pictures in a bit.

Uh-oh...

Yes, just what I need. I have 3 sweaters on the needles for myself (Juliet, Menja & the Moorish Patterned Pullover), so obviously, I need to cast on for cardigan-ized Rogue.

The yarn is this beautiful yarn that was a Christmas present to me (3 years ago, but who's counting!). It's beautiful, handspun, 100% wool from a Hungarian shepherd and still has lanolin in it so it will be practically waterproof.

Unfortunately, the shepherd forgot to set the dye on this particular batch of wool, so you'll catch me working on it red handed.

Since it's a giant wheel of yarn, there's really not a whole lot I can do until the garment is finished. Then I'll wash it in cold water and some vinegar and it should be fine. I think.

Holidaze...

The holidaze have ended and I think I am slowly regaining consciousness. The good news is that I've gotten some great knitting done.

My dad really enjoyed his Christmas present.

(I had the wrong flash setting on my camera. I wish I had realized that BEFORE I took all my Christmas pictures).

I also finished the mitered square rug I started in August.

It looks very pretty in the bathroom and didn't require half of what the pattern said it did. FYI - if you decide to make it using Sugar & Creme cotton instead of Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton, halve your yardage for all of the complimentary colors. And save the receipt. Luckily, I have friends who love (and love to knit) knitted dishtowels, so the yarn has a new home with them and I never have to work with Sugar & Cream cotton EVER AGAIN.

Until the next time I feel like it, that is.
