Pretty Picture!
I have nothing to say really, I just wanted to share these with you.

These Converse are hand beaded and currently on display at the Smithsonian American Indian Museum in the
Our Lives: Contemporary Life and Identities. The caption says that these were hand beaded by a mother who put her children on her shoes so they are with her when she dances.
Bits and pieces and swatches
I love the time right after you just finish a major project. ::coughroguecough:: I work on a lot of small projects and think about the next great undertaking(s). And begin swatching.
The first swatch was for the Moorish Patterned Pullover - which is just a boring circular/stockinette swatch and boring and unpictureworthy.
BUT! I want to make a nice, lacy cardigan out of an angora/lambswool from a sweater that I recycled in December. I found a vintage Classic Elite sweater pattern that is extremely adaptable and a stitch pattern they call Folded Ribbon. What do we think?

It's drying so I'm not sure if it's got gauge, but I'm also not sure I like the stitch pattern. I like the vertical lace, but something about it looks sloppy to me.
PS - Anybody notice how that stupid Old Navy shorts commercials has a lead singer in a halter top and one of
Glampyre's boobholders?
Sock Overload!
I have just completed not one, but two! pairs of socks.

These are socks that I desperately tried to finish for a birthday present and failed. By about 8 hours. That hurt.
The yarn is Elann's Sock it to Me, the pattern is
Barbara Breiter's Mistake Rib Socks, knit with the two socks, two circs method. It's actually a women's pattern, but knit loosely enough, it'll fit most male feet (I hope anyway, he hasn't tried them on yet).
This is my second time knitting this pattern and I really like it.
And now, for some true decadence... CASHMERE SOCKS.

The yarn is Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran, knit on size 6 DPNs with
this sock pattern as a base.
The cable stitch is my own.

If you want it, it's a simple 5 stitch repeat:
Row 1-3: p1, k1, p1, k2
Row 4: p1, k1, p1, knit into the back loop of the second stitch, do not slip either stitch off the needle, knit the first stitch, slip both stitches off of the needle
These socks were pure luxury to knit and will be winging their way to California where the happy recipient (and yarn purchaser) will enjoy them. I have friends who enjoy socks just a leetle bit too much.
Things I Don't Need to Buy
I really
don't need to buy any of the following.
Yes. I
do not need to buy all of this yarn.
Especially when I have yarn ready and waiting for three sweaters and a bunch of spinning projects. And no money.
