Knitting Goddess #9
Scarlette
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease (Yeah, I know. Donated from Artisokka)
Pattern: Freestyle seamless raglan with a short row shaped shawl collar
Needles: 6s & 8s
I was planning on making this sweater anyway, but then a friend told me he was throwing a murder mystery birthday a month before his birthday. He decided to give everyone color names, and christened me Christina Scarlette. So, I had yarn, I had a pattern, I had a deadline. Later, this sweater quickly became known as Scarlette and I wore it proudly (and no, I didn't kill him).
So, the light quality is terrible, but it's a better picture (of me) than the one below.
This sweater is based on Sweater #7 from the Holiday 2003 Vogue Knitting Magazine. The difference? That sweater is in bulky weight yarn and had set in sleeves. This is a seamless raglan in worsted weight yarn.
The foibles of freestyling a pattern - it has about 5" of k3p3 rib on both the sleeves and body, an unintentional a-line shape (frickin' gauge when you don't swatch in the round!) and sleeves that were meant to hug the base of the hand but instead hug the base of the thumb (and my left is longer than my right).
This sweater is gaw-jus, warm, flirty and great fun!
