This was a Christmas present for my father. I used the pointed tie without the fair isle detailing pattern - be warned, there is a (rather large) error in the pattern - it calls for only one skein of Koigu when you need two. Sorry the picture's so blurry - I was having problems with my camera.
I highly recommend sewing a ribbon onto the points of the tie to keep them from curling. There's a lot of mindless knitting here, but you get a very unique result.
